CB to issue Rs.2bn, 30-year bond

The Central Bank (CB) will issue a Rs.2 billion Treasury bond with a 30-year tenure at an auction today. The bond will carry a 9.0 percent coupon with a maturity date of June 01, 2043.

Interest will be paid semiannually on every June 01 and December 01 till the bond matures in 2043. The accrued interest will be calculated at Rs.0.0492 for every Rs.100

The tenders for the bond issue will be closed at 11:00 a.m. today. The Public Debt Department of the Central Bank informs the investors the minimum bid should not be below five million rupees (Rs.5 million) and multiples of one million rupees (Rs.1 million) there onwards.

Bids are invited from the Primary Dealers in Treasury bonds on the basis of clean prices (exclusive of accrued interest from the date of issue of the series to the date of settlement). Bids should be made only through the electronic bidding facility provided by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the department said.
