Commercial Bank receives its 12th 'Best Bank' Award from Global Finance

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon re-affirmed its prestigious status as the leading private sector bank in Sri Lanka to a representative international audience recently when it formally accepted the award for the 'Best Bank in Sri Lanka' for the 12th consecutive year from Global Finance. 

The award was presented at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. at a ceremony that coincided with the World Bank/IMF Meetings. Commercial Bank's Managing Director Amitha Gooneratne received the award on behalf of the Bank.

Commercial Bank received the award for its sound performances in areas such as growth in assets, profitability, strategic relationships, customer service, competitive pricing and innovative products, in 2009.

Commercial Bank has also been adjudged Sri Lanka's 'Bank of the Year' seven times by 'The Banker,' 'The Best Bank in Sri Lanka' twice by FinanceAsia and 'Best Local Trade Bank' in Sri Lanka by the UK based 'Trade Finance' magazine.
