LankaCom launched its Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) in-room entertainment solution for the Sri Lanka’s hospitality sector recently.
The LankaCom IPTV system, developed by SingTel, offers hoteliers a more cost effective and highly customisable solution. From easy customisation of the Guest User Interface (GUI) to regularly updating the system with guest relevant information, hotels will have greater opportunities for branding, information dissemination and interaction with the customers.
“Sri Lanka’s tourism industry is targeting 2.5 million guests by 2016 and is in the process of adding an estimated 35,000 new rooms. In-room entertainment and information will be a key factor in disseminating information and also enhancing the overall experience of guest,” LankaCom Managing Director Rohith Udalagama said.
“Our relationship with the corporate sector over the past 20 years has grown immensely, on large part due to our dedication to customer service and the introduction of best in class solutions. The LankaCom IPTV system will help the tourism industry further enhance its guest experience with better information and entertainment option,” he said.
The option to make all hotel related information like excursions and activities will also help hotels to reduce printing and staff costs in maintaining and updating the relevant information.
Hotels can also explore revenue opportunities by hosting promotional and other information from partner organisation offering services or organising activities in the vicinity of the hotels.
“Our system allows the guests to explore and to book hotel offers from the comfort of his room. Unlimited services, merchandising products, vouchers as well as products and services of external partners through direct interfaces can be sold simply on the TV screen,” Mr. Udalagama said.
