Mega vessel, Zhen Hua 11 recently shipped a large consignment of gantry cranes and container trailers for the newly built Colombo International Container Terminal (CICT).

The consignment consisted of three gantry cranes, 10 rubber tyre gantry cranes (RTGs) and 26 container trailers.

This was the third shipment to arrive at the CICT. The two previous shipments that took place last year also discharged the same amount of equipment. Two more ships are to arrive in the coming few months.

CICT is the only terminal that can handle mega container carriers in the South Asian region.

Zhen Hua Shipping is a subsidiary of ZPMC, an organisation in Shanghai that manufactures massive port equipment, including Goliyaths, and enjoys a global market share of 70 percent.

ZPMC will also be supplying ship to ship (STS) cranes to the Mahinda Rajapaksa Terminal in Hambantota where two vessels are to call in the port in the near future.

Ceyline Shipping is the local agents for ZPMC Shipping and Business Development Consultant Parakrama Pilapitiya was instrumental in obtaining the agency for Ceyline Shipping.
