To celebrate the newly introduced ‘Liya Diriya’ by Assetline, the company hosted a safe riding programme by a professional driving academy in Colombo. The full day programme provided the participating women with comprehensive training on riding technics, road safety measures, road rules covering both the theory and practical aspects culminating in a written examination and a certificate to the successful candidates.

The programme was in keeping with one of the key objectives of ‘Liya Diriya’ by Assetline, which focuses on financing mobility solutions for women. Expanding on this further, Thilan Kulasooriya, Product Lead, Assetline Leasing Company said, “Women play so many different roles in our community as mothers, wives, entrepreneurs, professionals, business leaders etc.; owning their own means of transport not only ensures their safety and convenience in today’s COVID-19 impacted environment but also is critical in building their businesses, studying, ferrying family around and so much more.

The independence and empowerment it brings, not only benefits the individual but also the greater community.”
Assetline intends to rollout similar programmes, throughout Sri Lanka, which will upskill and empower women and this was the precursor of many more to come.
