Cargills Bank proved its ability to deliver value in double quick time to its customers by making available the first-ever smart Mastercard debit card in the country with the chip, PIN, contactless and EMV-compliant technology.
The bank is replacing its existing ATM cards used by customers with a Smart debit card which will enhance the offering of conveniences and benefits to its customers.
Cargills Bank Assistant General Manager Cards and E-Commerce Gehan Dias said, “Cargills is a responsible corporate entity that continues to play an active role in Sri Lanka for many years. The new debit card will allow our customers to withdraw cash from over 3000 LankaPay-connected ATMs locally and will have access to over one million ATMs worldwide through Cirrus, Maestro and Mastercard ATM Networks.
The customers can also shop with their new debit card at over 38 million Mastercard-accepted merchant outlets globally. We are confident that Cargills Bank has surpassed industry standards in the speed of implementation of the Switch, CMS and the issuance of contactless debit cards.”
He added, “While assuring customers of enhanced security and peace of mind through the issuance of chip and PIN debit card, the bank has also been attuned to customer convenience by enabling contactless transactions through the same card. We plan to initiate a variety of cards in future with amazing offers locally and overseas and we will keep delivering benefits to customers giving true control into their hands.” The Cargills Bank Mastercard debit card was ceremonially handed over by Mastercard Country Manager Sri Lanka and the Maldives Santosh Kumar to Cargill Bank Deputy General Manager Retail Banking Darshana Ratnayake, at the launch event held at Cargills Bank head office on June 24, 2017.
Assistant General Manager Cards and E-Commerce Gehan Dias and Deputy General Manager Marketing Rumaiz Rahim were also present.
