NDB NEOS celebrates two years

NDB Bank’s revolutionary digital banking platform NDB NEOS recently celebrated its second successful year since its launch in 2019. 


NDB Bank is leading the digital transformation of the banking industry in Sri Lanka. The bank is constantly exploring the latest technology and market trends and investing in R&D in order to deliver the best experience for its customers. 


Accordingly, with the introduction of NEOS a significant number of the bank’s customers   have switched to conducting all banking transactions from the safety of their homes. 


NDB NEOS, which comprises of the bank’s mobile and online banking platforms, is the flagship digital offering of the bank. 


The enhancements introduced to the NDB NEOS platform during the recent past are industry-firsts, with the implementation of QR  enabled NEOS Pay,   the VKYC based online account opening and enabling registration and obtaining of CRIB reports  for the Bank’s clientele. 


NDB’s AI-enabled video KYC (vKYC) based online account opening facility within NDB NEOS, enables customers to open NDB accounts from the comfort and safety of home, without having to visit a branch. 


Additionally, the Bank also became the first in the industry to tie up with the Credit Information Bureau (CRIB) in order to create a hassle free and convenient service in which the Bank’s customers can register and request for their individual credit reports (iReport) and individual credit score reports (CRIB Score) from wherever they are in Sri Lanka through NDB NEOS.


When social distancing was important in order to stay safe, NDB Bank introduced NEOS Pay with NDB NEOS, a QR payment method allowing customers to make payments to merchants and pay bills on the same platform. 
NDB NEOS is the first app in Sri Lanka to enable banking and merchant transactions in one single app. 


Adding further convenience, customers of other banks can register for NDB NEOS using their other bank account details via the JustPay network. 


Customers can also view their entire portfolio, including shareholding and wealth details and open fixed deposits  via NDB NEOS.


NDB NEOS was awarded the Most Innovative Digital Banking Platform in Sri Lanka 2021 by the Global Business Outlook – UK.


NDB also introduced yet another first in Sri Lanka, in the form of a new mobile banking platform titled NDB NEOSBiz, specially targeted at SME businesses.


NDB NEOSBiz is both an online as well as mobile application and the platform comes with a host of benefits for SMEs enabling them to manage their business transactions digitally. NDB NEOS Biz will be an essential tool for the management of financial transactions via a secure and simple system, and will be available to SME entrepreneurs across a wide range of sectors, the bank said in a media release.
