100 MPs who did not submit asset declarations referred to CIABOC

A list of hundred Parliamentarians who have not submitted their declarations of assets and liabilities to the Speaker of the Parliament before June 30 has been referred to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) by the Parliamentary officials, according to sources.   

The MPs except for the ministers and state ministers are required to submit their declarations of assets and liabilities to the Parliament before June 30 each year and the ministers and the state ministers have to submit their declarations to the Secretary to the President.   

There are 169 MPs who do not hold ministerial positions in the current Parliament and only 69 of them had submitted their declarations of assets and liabilities to the Speaker.   

The CIABOC is empowered and expected to take action against those lawmakers who have violated the rules in respect of declarations of assets and liabilities, the sources said.   
Meanwhile, only 20 legislators have posted their declarations of assets and liabilities in the website of Transparency International.
