The 2022 GCE Advanced Level (A/L) examination will be held today (23) and continue until February 17, the Examination Commissioner General H.J.M.C. Amith Jayasundara said.
While addressing the media yesterday, he said the examination will continue for 22 days, except for Sundays and government holidays.
A total of 331,709 candidates, including 278,196 school candidates and 53,513 private candidates, will sit for the exam.
2,200 examination centres have been established to conduct the examination around the country. 317 coordination centres were established to coordinate with the examination centres.
“In the meantime, several special examination centres were established. For inmates, one centre was established at the Welikada Magazine Prison. Another two examination centres have been established in Ratmalana and Tangalle for candidates with special needs. “Arrangements have been made to establish an examination centre at the Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama,” the Commissioner General added.
