78-year-old Trump’s election as President, it is an example for Sri Lanka: Wajira

• Ranil can run country for another 12 years

United National Party (UNP) chairman MP Wajira Abeywardena said people of the United States which is the global superpower elected 78-year-old Donald Trump as President and it is an example for Sri Lanka.   
Delivering remarks at a party meeting in Galle on November 7, he said his leader former President Ranil Wickremesinghe is competent to run the country for another 12 years.

He said Mr. Wickremesinghe’s memory power is stronger than anyone.  “When we are forgetful of anything, we consult him,” he said.   

He said Mr.Wickremesinghe was the only leader who came forward to redirect the country from the era of queues for food and fuel.   

Referring to the next Parliament, he said it would be a funny place with inexperienced members.   
“The next Parliament will herald the end of leftist politics in Sri Lanka,” he said.
