All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU), issuing a condolence note yesterday said that they were deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life and destruction to property caused by the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria on February 6th, 2023.
We pray for those affected in the region and convey our deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this catastrophic disaster, and to those injured a speedy recovery.
The thoughts and prayers of the Muslim Religious Scholars and the Sri Lankan Muslim community and the people of the Sri Lankan Nation are with those who have been affected and pray that they are blessed with the strength and courage to overcome this difficult situation.
We strongly believe that Turkey, Syria and all other effected places will recover from this catastrophic situation rapidly and emerge stronger.
It is noteworthy that Turkey is a friendly nation and has extended humanitarian assistance to many countries including Sri Lanka, especially during the Tsunami period.
May Almighty Allah help and protect the people in the region, compensate their losses with abundant goodness and bless those affected with tranquility and restore normalcy.
