Allow liquor sales for foreigners on Poya days:Diana

• She earlier proposed that bars and liquor shops be kept open 24 hours a day

State Minister of Tourism Diana Gamage has come up with a proposal to allow the sale of liquor to foreigners on Poya days, it is learnt. The proposal of the state minister is to sell liquor only to foreigners on Poya days. She had made this proposal at the government parliamentary group meeting.  “There is no way for the foreigners to purchase liquor on Poya days,” she had told the group meeting.  Ms. Gamage earlier proposed that bars and liquor shops be kept open 24 hours a day.
