Basil settled bills for use of VIP Gold Route Lounge, says AASPL

• The expenses incurred for tea was also settled by Mr. Rajapaksa, the AASPL said

Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa and his wife have settled the bills for using the VIP Gold Route Lounge and for the tea provided to the guests who were at the Airport to welcome him, Airport and Aviation Services Private Ltd (AASPL), said yesterday.   

“The lounge was made available for Mr. Rajapaksa and his wife as they pledged to make the payments upon their arrival on November 20, 2022,” the AASPL said in a statement.  

“Tea was arranged for the guests who came to the lounge to welcome Mr. Rajapaksa following a request made by them and the assurance given by them that they will settle it. Accordingly, the expenses incurred for tea has been settled by Mr. Rajapaksa. Therefore, AASPL has not spent for the purpose,” the statement added.
