Businessman arrested for damaging State Minister’s jeep

A leading businessman was taken into custody for causing damage to State Minister Sanath Nishantha’s luxury jeep, which collided  with his vehicle at Modarawella in Marawila.   

Police said the State Minister, with his security officers, was on his way to attend a ceremony in Dankotuwa area yesterday morning  when his vehicle collided with another vehicle. 

The owner of the vehicle who ran amok had taken out an iron bar and hit the State Minister’s jeep,  causing it damage despite attempts of the MSD officer to prevent it.  However, he had not hurt anyone in the jeep. The businessman taken into custody by Marawila Police was to be produced in court.
