Businessman stabbed to death in Mount Lavinia

• The victim was drinking alcohol with his wife’s brother
• Victim allegedly killed by his brother-in-law over a personal dispute

A 55-year-old businessman was stabbed to death in a two-storey house at De-Seram Road in Mount Lavinia last evening, police said.

They said the victim was allegedly killed by his brother-in-law due to a personal dispute.

It was reported that the victim was drinking alcohol with his wife’s brother, and he was stabbed to death following an argument.

The suspect had fled the scene and Mount Lavinia Police are investigating.

Police suspect that the murder took place over a property dispute.
