CID grills Health Ministry Secretary

• Director of the National Blood Transfusion Service was also questioned

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) recorded a statement from the Secretary to the Ministry of Health, Janaka Sri Chandragupta yesterday (06). 

This move comes in the wake of an alleged incident involving the import of substandard Human Immunoglobulin to the country.

The investigations are centred around Isolez Biotech, whose owner was recently arrested and subsequently remanded till November 15.

The individual is facing serious charges of supplying substandard Human Immunoglobulin to the Medical Supplies Division of the Ministry of Health. 

In addition, the Director of the National Blood Transfusion Service was also questioned by the CID.
This case has raised concerns among authorities and the public alike, as the use of inferior medical products can pose significant risks to the health and safety of patients.
