Can’t place country under lockdown until solution found for COVID-19: Prez

• Says behaviour of the people cannot be consistently determined by imposing curfew alone
• People must prepare to go back to their usual routine while adhering to the health guidelines

While saying that the behaviour of the people cannot be consistently determined by imposing curfew alone, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa stressed it was impossible to place the country under lockdown until a feasible solution is found to curb the COVID-19 pandemic. 

• Also instructed the police to strictly implement the curfew in respective areas to mitigate the spread of the virus 

 He made these remarks at the launch of the ‘Stay Safe’ digital project finalized by a group of experts of the information and technology field.  

The people must prepare themselves to go back to their usual routine while adhering to the health guidelines.

Meanwhile, the President highlighted the importance of people’s maximum support in the endeavour to put an end to COVID-19.
