Case against Aragalaya activists Court calls for an investigation report

A case filed against nine Aragalaya activists including popular actress Damitha Abeyratne, General Secretary of Ceylon Teachers’ Union Joseph Stalin and youth activist Rathindu Senaratne alias ‘Ratta’ for allegedly blocking the main entrance to the Magistrate’s Court was yesterday fixed for October 9 by Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.   
Meanwhile, the Court directed the police to submit an investigation report regarding this incident on the next hearing date.  

Slave Island Police had filed this case against Aragalaya activists for allegedly obstructing police officers from carrying out their duty while engaging in a protest blocking the main entrance to the Colombo Fort Magistrates’ Court on May 30 last year.
