Changing IMF agreement under a SJB government is a mere slogan : State Minister

• At a time when the country was in trouble, the agreement made with the IMF was good and not bad for the country and the economy

Statement made by the Opposition Leader about changing the agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) with Sri Lanka under a Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) government is a mere slogan, Finance State Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said.  

The State Minister stated at a meeting in Avissawella yesterday that everyone should act responsibly at this time without making impractical statements.   

“At a time when the country was in trouble, the agreement made with the IMF was good and not bad for the country and the economy,” he said.  
He observed that these statements are being made to dupe gullible party supporters and to become popular and they wouldn’t bring any good to the country.
