Chennai - Jaffna direct flights resume

Air travel between Chennai and Jaffna which had been suspended for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic resumed yesterday.  

A senior official of the Civil Aviation Services Authority said the first flight from Chennai Airport arrived at Palali Airport in Jaffna last morning and returned to Chennai. He said steps were taken to resume the flights since the pandemic had been controlled to a certain extent.  

He said flights will operate on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, subject to health precautions.
