Cleaning up of polluted coastlines conducted

The island-wide programme to clean up sensitive coastlines that are constantly being polluted was conducted by the Marine Environment Protection Authority, A rehearsal programme of this project, which is expected to be carried out using modern beach cleaning machinery received with foreign aid was held on the beach of Crow Island in Mattakkuliya. Mr. Sagala Ratnayake, Chief of Staff of the President, Navy Chiefs, Chairman of the Maritime Environment Protection Authority, and heads of non-governmental organizations participated in this programme.
