Conductor arrested for pickpocketing

 The conductor of a private bus on Moratuwa – Pettah route 101 was arrested on suspicion of being a pickpocket.   
 It is alleged that he was caught red-handed when he stole  the wallet of a passenger, and a fellow passenger who noticed it revealed  it to the owner. The passengers caught and handed over him to the  police.  

 Investigations revealed that the suspect was a drug addict  and that he resorted to stealing the money and valuables of passengers.

 The passenger who faced the incident was from Gampaha area travelling to Moratuwa.  
 Police suspect the conductor for his involvement in similar previous incidents.
