Court No. 6 Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court closed

•  As staff had reportedly gone for a wedding ceremony

The Court No. 06 of the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court was seen closed yesterday as the staff of the court had reportedly gone for a wedding ceremony of a typist, causing inconvenience to the people, who had come to the court for cases.  

In the morning, when the court was closed, people came to the proceedings and could be seen loitering not knowing which court the proceedings were taking place in. Later, those people said that they came to know through the lawyers that their cases are scheduled to be taken at the Court No. 2.  

“I hereby kindly inform you that the motion cases in Court No. 06 will not be called on June 1, 2023,” a notice was seen displayed on the court notice board signed by Registrar by order of the court.
