Curfew lifted, several risk areas in WP, Kegalle & Kurunegala isolated

  • Several areas in Western Province and Kegalle and Kurunegala Districts will be kept isolated until further notice as these areas have been identified as risk areas
  • Six apartment complexes in Colombo will remain under isolation

Though the quarantine curfew imposed in the Western Province and other areas were lifted at 5.00 am today and several areas still remain as isolated, Army Commander Shavendra Silva said. 

He said that several areas in Western Province and Kegalle and Kurunegala Districts will be kept isolated until further notice as these areas have been identified as risk areas.    


Accordingly, Mattakkuliya, Modara, Bloemendhal, Kotahena, Grandpass, Foreshore, Barber Street, Maligawatta, Dematagoda, Wellampitiya, Keselwatta and Borella police areas in Colombo District, Wattala, Peliyagoda, Kadawatha, Ragama, Negombo, Pamunugama, Ja-Ela, and Sapugaskanda police areas in the Gampaha District and Horana, Ingiriya police areas and Wekada-West Grama Seva Division in the Kalutara declared as isolated areas since this morning.
