Death of 16-year old in Kalutara Wife of hotel owner arrested

 The hotel owner’s wife who is alleged to have provided accommodation to the underaged schoolgirl who fell from an upper storey of the hotel in Kalutara on May 06, was arrested yesterday afternoon by Kalutara South Police during the ongoing investigations of the incident.   

 She was the fifth suspect taken into custody in connection with the incident.   

 Earlier the police had arrested four suspects and the main suspect, was a 29-year-old young man, who is being further questioned under a detention order.   

 Police said the hotel owner’s wife would be charged for providing accommodation to the schoolgirl, regardless of the need to identify her. A senior police official said steps had been taken to examine the telephone calls taken by the victim.   

 Crime Investigation Branch of the Kalutara South Police are conducting further investigations.
