Death of Sri Lankan businessman in Indonesia SL yet to receive Indonesian forensic reports

Sri Lanka awaits the submission of  histopathological  and toxicological reports  by the Indonesian authorities  on the murder of Sri Lankan businessman Onesh Subasinghe, Daily Mirror learns. 

The businessman, 45, was found dead mysteriously in an apartment in Jakarta on February 3, 2023.   He along with his wife, daughter, and his wife’s assistant had left for Indonesia on a vacation on January 20, 2023. Later, the Jakarta police said the family members had left Indonesia after the incident.


Inspector General of Police C.D. Wickramaratne ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to carry out investigations. A CID delegation also left for Indonesia. 
 According to sources, the Indonesian authorities are yet to submit histopathological and toxicological reports regarding the incident. The role of forensic histopathology is to establish the cause of death in particular cases.
