Death sentence for murder of wife

An accused who stood indicted with murder was found guilty and sentenced to death by High Court Judge of Puttalam Nayomi Thamara Wickremesekara yesterday (26).   
A resident of Temple Road, Mullegama in Navagattegama, Mannapperuma Mudiyanselage Susil Bandara alias Gamini who had on July 22, 2015 stabbed to death his wife Moragalpedi Diyalage Thushari Kanchana (27), mother of one child, over a family dispute, was convicted of murder. 
He was 33 years of age at the time of the incident.   

The victim who was a garment worker had just returned home after work when she was stabbed to death.   
The accused was convicted of murder after a trial that lasted about eight years. 
The Judge held that the prosecution has establshed the charges against the accused beyond reasonable doubt securing a conviction.
