State Minister Diana Gamage emphasized the need for training among those who work in spas in order to elevate their standards.

“Spas are essential as some tourists especially visit Sri Lanka to go for massages. We cannot stop the expansion of spas,” the State Minister told Parliament yesterday.

Also she said she is happy about the legalisation of cannabis in Sri Lanka through the Ayurveda Amendment Bill. “It was MP Rajitha Senaratne who first called for the cultivation of cannabis but it was I who carried out the campaign. Developing cannabis cultivation alone will help Sri Lanka to come out of the economic crisis,” she said.
