Whilst questioning investigations carried out on the killing of businessman Dinesh Shaffter, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Eran Wickramaratne yesterday said no foreign investor would come to Sri Lanka if justice is not meted out.

MP Wickramaratne who raised the matter in Parliament questioned the conduct of the Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) who conducted investigations.

“Initial JMO report said the victim was strangled however the same JMO later said the victim has committed suicide. How can this be? He questioned.

“Foreign businessmen are usually invited by local investors. Foreign investors actually work with their local counterparts. Therefore Sri Lanka cannot think of getting foreign investments if they feel their local counterparts are not safe,” he added.

“The President should look into this case as the Shaffter family is close to him,” he also said.
