Dip in vegetable sales

The selling prices of all vegetable items in the local market have steadily decreased compared to the previous days, the All Island Unified Economic Centres and Manning Market Traders Union (AIUECMMTU) said today.  


They informed Daily Mirror that a kilo of leeks was selling at a price between Rs. 80 and Rs. 100, Cabbage between Rs. 100 and Rs. 150, Carrot between Rs. 300 and Rs. 350, Tomato between Rs. 80 and Rs. 100, beetroot between Rs. 180 and Rs. 200, Green chilies between Rs. 350 and Rs. 450, and brinjals between Rs. 150 and Rs. 180, etc.  “There is no increase in receiving vegetable stocks for markets, but the selling trend of vegetables has decreased,” he said.
