The burial site of a two-year-old girl in the Rasendrakulam  cemetery, located in Nelukkulam, Vavuniya, has been disturbed, with  the child’s body mysteriously exhumed and taken away.

The young girl, identified as Lingarajah Deepika (02),  tragically lost her life on August 25 when she accidentally fell into a  water tank while playing in a relative’s garden. Following a postmortem  examination, her body was laid to rest in the public cemetery on August  27.

However, the tranquillity of this resting place was  shattered when the child’s father visited the cemetery on the evening of  Thursday, September 7, only to discover that the grave had been  desecrated. The small coffin remained, but the body of his beloved  daughter had been removed.

Authorities, including the police, have yet to receive any  information or leads regarding the individual or individuals responsible  for this shocking act, nor the motive behind such a heinous act.

Nelukkulam Police have launched a comprehensive  investigation into this distressing incident, aiming to unravel the  mystery surrounding the unlawful exhumation and disappearance of young  Lingarajah Deepika’s remains.
