“Don’t nominate corrupt people”- March 12 Movement

• Political parties should ensure that all candidates submit their  Declaration of Assets at the time of signing nominations and publish  them

The March 12 Movement yesterday urged all the political parties to give nominations to honest and non-corrupt people in the upcoming Local Government elections, so as to create a better country.   

Convener of the March 12 Movement Rohana Hettiarachchi appealed to political parties to take into consideration the criteria issued by them on March 12, 2015 when selecting candidates for the LG polls.  

He said the political parties should ensure that all candidates submit their Declaration of Assets at the time of signing nominations and publish them.  
He said the recent uprising in the society including the youth was to call for a system change in the country.  

Hettiarachchi said people were eagerly waiting until the political parties provide the expected change.
