Dr. Saman Weerasinghe receives top award in Russia

Dr. Saman Weerasinghe, the consultant to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, has received an award from the Foreign Ministry of Russia. He received it on November 25 in Moscow. It is an award given in recognition of international cooperation.    Dr. Weerasinghe once served as Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia. This is the first time a Sri Lankan has been awarded. Before him, selected personages from Slovenia, France, India and Bulgaria have received this award.
