Drug trafficker’s two storied house, car seized

• Suspect’s wife occupying the house was arrested for failing to reveal how they amassed wealth

 Property at Munamalwatta in Kahatuduwa, belonging to a drug trafficker in remand at the Boossa Prison were seized and his wife arrested by the Illegal Assets Investigation Division of the CID.   

 A senior official of the investigation division said a two storied house, a car, and two plots of land valued at about Rs.500 million were among the property seized. He said the suspect’s wife occupying the house was arrested for failing to reveal how they amassed wealth.

 He said the owner of the property now in custody for drug trafficking had been a soldier who was interdicted on disciplinary grounds and was employed as a mason before he took to drug trafficking.
