FM off to India to attend key geopolitical meeting, seeks top level engagements

Foreign Minister Ali Sabry will seek top level engagements with the officials of G 20 countries when he visits New Delhi on March 1 to attend ‘Raisina Dialogue’ which is India’s key annual geopolitical meeting, Daily Mirror learns.

 The Minister will leave for India in March to attend the event and address sessions. It is organized annually by the Indian External Affairs Ministry along with the Observer Research Foundation. Leading global policymakers are expected to attend the event.  


Most leaders who were in India for the G 20 summit are expected to stay to participate in the geopolitical meeting to be conducted between March 3 and 4. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the session.   
 According to informed sources, Mr. Sabry is likely to hold talks with his Indian counterpart Dr. S. Jaishankar.   
India is playing a key role in efforts being made by Sri Lanka to unlock the US $ 2.9 billion programme with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
