Father assaulted, daughter abused, suspect arrested

• Previous animosity had resulted in the  incident

An elderly man of Ekiriya in Madolsima Police area had been  assaulted with a mammoty and his 15-year-old daughter sexually abused  by an individual of the area.  

The 71-year-old father who received serious injuries was  admitted to Meegahakiula Hospital and his daughter was referred to the JMO  Badulla Teaching Hospital for a medical examination.   

The 38-year-old suspect from the Helagedara area in Madolsima was  arrested last morning by Madolsima Police. Investigations revealed that  a previous animosity between the two parties had resulted in the  incident.   

OIC Madolsima Police CI H.P. Dissanayake is conducting  further investigations on the instructions of ASP Dilip De Silva and SP  Buddhika Gunasekara.
