The use of fingerprint machines for all Staff Grade Officers or executive staff has been made mandatory, beginning August 01, 2023.

Accordingly, all Staff Grade Officers should mark their daily arrival and departure with effect from August 01.
This has been conveyed via an internal memo.  Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Secretary to the Ministry of Health Janaka Sri Chandragupta said, “The new move will replace the attendance book and it will be applicable to all Staff Grade Officers including medical administrators working at the Health Ministry.”

“The new measure also aims to accurately determine which officers are eligible for extra duty and overtime payments. Accordingly, this ensures the approved extra duty allowances, as discussed during a Cabinet meeting,” he underscored.
