30 May 2024 - {{hitsCtrl.values.hits}}

The government is planning to deceive the estate sector workers by using the daily wage increase as a tool to attract voters, SJB Pasara organizer Letchumanar Sanjay said.   “The government staged the first drama by issuing a gazette to increase the daily wage of workers to Rs 1,750.   “Our plantation workers are the ones who tried to save our country when the world was economically in a bad way during the COVID period.
“This is not just a salary problem but the problem of the entire society. Unable to cope with the economy in the current situation, students from the upcountry are discontinuing their education, three meals have come down to two meals a day. Students go to work at an early age.   UNICEF has published a report that the children of the upcountry eat meat only once a month. If this situation continues, there will be a decline in tea production.  This time I have addressed this issue in the United Nations.
