Hands chopped off and taken away

  • A spokesman for the hospital said the hands could have been grafted if the suspect had not taken them away

The two hands of an individual had been severed at the elbow and taken away during an altercation over a previous animosity between two parties.  

The victim was a resident of Koralawella in Moratuwa and an electrician by profession. Residents of the area who rushed to the scene admitted the injured to the Panadura base hospital. A spokesman for the hospital said the hands could have been grafted if the suspect had not taken them away.   


Police said the suspect had fled from the area after the incident taking away the two hands.   


OIC Moratuwa police CI Nihal Francis and OIC Crime Investigation Branch SI Nandana are conducing further investigations on SSP Mount Lavinia division Mangala Dehideniya to arrest 
the suspect.
