Heavy influx of pilgrims at Sri Pada

A heavy influx of pilgrims to Sri Padasthana was experienced on the Duruthu Full Moon Poya Day yesterday. This had created a huge rush at the Hatton Railway Station with thousands of pilgrims arriving by train.

 
A senior official of the Hatton Railway Station said the pilgrim arrival had increased due to the long weekend and that a railway –SLTB coordinated bus service was in operation for their convenience. 

Meanwhile, the police had taken steps to check the pilgrims at the Hatton Railway Station to prevent the use of liquor and intoxicants.
