Homagama jewellery shop robbed at gunpoint

An armed gang that entered a jewellery showroom in Homagama town last morning had taken away a stock of jewellery and cash Rs. 300,000 at gunpoint.


The owner of the jewellery shop stated to police that the robbers had taken away 36 gold rings and 48 pendants of which the value was yet to be estimated and the cash collection.


Investigations revealed that the robbers had been riding on two motorcycles bearing forged number plates.
Homagama Police are conducting further investigations to arrest the suspects.
