Hot water hurled on child

An individual under the influence of liquor had hurled hot  water on his three-year-old child, causing him burn injuries on his  back. The injured was admitted to Lindula Divisional Hospital.   Lindula Police have taken steps to arrest the suspect father, a resident of Bareville estate.   

Investigations revealed that the suspect and his wife were  employed in Colombo, leaving the child to the suspect’s mother. The  suspect who visited his mother had an altercation with her under the  influence of liquor and beaten the child and hurled hot water.  

Police said the child’s grandmother made a complaint in this regard.
