I gave up my original plan to bow out of politics: Sudarshini Fernandopulle

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP)’s Gampaha District MP Sudarshini Fernandopulle yesterday said she had changed her original plan to give up politics and decided to support Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa at the coming presidential election.   

“I left the SLPP and sat in the opposition even before the Aragalaya and functioned as an independent MP for more than two years. My belief is that Sri Lanka needs a good leader and a sound road map to see that it becomes a developed nation. 

 I expect that Mr. Premadasa will live up to this expectation,” she told media.  

Ms. Fernandopulle officially announced that she has decided to support the leader of the  Opposition Sajith Premadasa.   

Meanwhile it was also reported that Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Moneragala District Organizer and former Minister Gamini Vijith Vijithamuni Soysa has decided to back incumbent President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
