No need to obtain visa to leave country

• Says need to flee the country after Presidential Election would not arise

Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles said he was in possession of a visa to live for ten years in any country and that he does not have to obtain a visa to leave the country after the Presidential Election.  

He told the media on Wednesday (11) during his visit to Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy that he was not aware of any minister who had obtained a visa to leave the country and that the need to flee the country after the Presidential Election would not arise.  

Replying to a query from the media regarding reports that 80 ministers had obtained visas to leave the country after the Presidential Election, he said although a parliamentarian in the opposition had made that statement, it could be a baseless statement since different individuals made such statements during an election campaign.
