ITAK nominates defeated Padmanathan through national list

Illankai Thamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) decided to nominate Dr. Padmanathan Sathiyalingam to Parliament thorugh the national list.   

Decision was made by the ITAK Executive Committee over the weekend according to senior member of the party former MP. M. A. Sumanthiran.   

The committee met in Vavuniya to decide on the national list slot on Sunday. Few names were considered for the post.   

Dr. Sathiyalingam who contested from Vanni District polled 4033 preferential votes. ITAK Vanni District candidate Thureirasah Raviharan was elected to the House with 112015 votes at this year’s General Election.
