The chairman of LITRO Gas Lanka, Muditha Peiris, yesterday requested Education Minister Susil Premajayantha to include the safety measures associated with using liquid petroleum gas (LPG) in the Advanced Level (A/L) syllabus. During an event organised by LITRO Gas Company and the Education Ministry, the LITRO chairman described the importance of considering the use of LPG. He highlighted that by incorporating LPG safety education into the A/L syllabus, greater awareness and precautionary measures can be taken to ensure enhanced safety for everyone.
The safety measures implemented in the production of gas cylinders have effectively eliminated any concerns surrounding the usage of the four million distributed cylinders.
“Some 2.4 million gas cylinders are being lit per hour in the country. That means approximately 70 people were lighting their gas cylinders every passing second. However, thanks to the safety measures implemented by LITRO Gas, people no longer need to fear using their products,” he said.
