  • GSMB aims to develop the graphite industry to maximize benefits to the country

An initial discussion has been conducted between officials  from the Indian Government and the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau of  Sri Lanka to see the possibilities of developing the graphite industry  in the country, an informed source said.

During the discussion, it has mainly been discussed to  collaborate on developing exploration and mining technologies such as  the use of advanced airborne geophysical exploration techniques for  exploring vein-type graphite deposits in Sri Lanka.

And also, we expected to get modern equipment for deep  mining in the country. Further, both parties considered about maximum  value addition of graphite to use in modern industries and the possibility  of starting graphite-based industries such as EV batteries, lubricants  etc. GSMB wishes to develop the graphite industry to get maximum  benefits to the country using these hidden mineral resources and looking  for possible collaborations and joint ventures to develop the industry.  As this is an initial discussion, GSMB expects to continue the dialogue  and make it real.
