Keheliya Rambukwella arrested

• After more than 10 hours of interrogation, the minister was arrested in connection with the matter

Former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday over the importation of substandard Immunoglobulin injections.

Rambukwella who complied with a court order, arrived at the CID yesterday to provide a statement.
Earlier Maligakanda Magistrate Lochana Abeywickrama had directed Rambukwella to report to the CID at 9 AM yesterday following submissions by Deputy Solicitor General Lakmini Girihagama on behalf of the Attorney General during a court hearing on the controversial human immunoglobulin procurement case.

In addition, the Maligakanda Magistrate imposed an overseas travel ban on the Minister.

After more than 10 hours of interrogation, the minister was arrested in connection with the matter.
