Department of Wildlife has requested the public not to handle or change the location of leopard cubs found in shrub jungles in the Central hills. A senior official of the department said every leopardess going in search of food was in the habit of hiding their cubs under the bushes until they returned.
He warned against any possible danger, if the leopardess was frequenting close by and advised not to take closeup photos of cubs. He requested the public to leave the cubs alone and move away. The wildlife conservator said the leopardess would refuse to take away the cubs after human handling.
He requested the public to call the Department’s hotline 1992 or inform the nearest wildlife conservation office immediately if any cubs were found.
