Lorry goes down precipice at Labukele

A lorry veered off the road and fell into a 70- foot deep precipice last morning at Labukele in Nuwara Eliya causing serious injuries at least to 14 individuals on board. The lorry which was transporting labourers to the Nuwara Eliya Economic Centre when it met with the accident.   

The injured, five of them critically, were admitted to Nuwara Eliya general hospital.   

Investigations revealed that the driver had lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed. Nuwara Eliya police are conducting further investigations.
